Dr. Alexander Theisen

Dr. Alexander Theisen has served as a full-time Instructor in economics at GCU for three years. A native of the valley, Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics at Arizona State University, before going on to receive his master’s and PhD in Economics at Northwestern University. His research used advancements in game theory to compare the effectiveness of “hard” and “soft” material informational incentives in enforcing agreements between parties. Some more recent projects include studying the incentive structure of peer-to-peer solar energy markets and the possible workforce impacts of AI. He currently lives in Scottsdale with his wife Liz and his daughter Lucy.
